A native of Vietnam, Chan Luu came to the U.S. to study at Boston University for a business degree. But fate had other things stored for her. Following her dream of being a fashion designer, she moved to Los Angeles where she enrolled at FIDM wherein she received a degree in Fashion Design in 1975. Chan Luu left Vietnam in 1972, where she was born and raised, to further her education at Boston University in Massachusetts majoring in Business Administration. Following her dream of becoming a designer, she later moved to Los Angeles and enrolled at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising earning a degree in Fashion Design in 1975. Armed with a business degree and intimate knowledge of fashion, Chan Luu opened her first boutique in Rolling Hills Estates in 1982 carrying European designer clothing and accessories for women. Chan Luu’s famous wraparound bracelet adorns the wrists of the most stylish girls. Her pieces have been featured in Vogue, Elle, Glamour, Harper’s Bazaar and InStyle. Her designs have been worn by celebrities including Jennifer Aniston, Mischa Barton, Sandra Bullock, Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, Drew Barrymore and Janet Jackson.
